High Five overview – 5 key steps to effective project management
The program features a unique graphic approach to logic-driven planning. Being able to visualise the project slashes planning time and greatly increases the effectiveness of the plan implementation.
Participants learn the following five core steps that form a complete process for any project:
Step 1: Genesis
Identify key players and their roles. Clarify the goal of the project and define its scope. Get sign off from project sponsor. |
| |
Step 2: Design
Focus on a detailed design by which outcomes of the project are managed. |
| |
Step 3: Implementation Planning
Use Objective Driven Logic to graphically map out the project tasks, dependencies, time frames and costs using a unique set of project tools and systems. |
| |
Step 4: Implementation
Manage the uncertainty of project delivery. Handle scope, resourcing and financial changes during implementation. |
| |
Step 5: Project review
Undertake 3 distinct reviews to ensure learnings will become building blocks for future projects. |
Our 2-day High Five Program
Day 1 — Picturing the path
During the first day, we lay the foundations for the first 3 steps: effective Genesis, Design, and Implementation & Planning Principles. Groups will complete first of the two major case studies.
Day 2 — Making it all happen
The day begins with a review and will focus on:
- Techniques for building implementation plans
- Project costing
- Resolving complex resource issues
- Handling scope change and managing client expectations
After lunch, our second case study covers a project with a HK$20million budget
